Fox Pest Control Sponsors STRIDE, Adaptive Sports & Recreation Program Provider

At Fox, we don’t believe in keeping everything to ourselves. We’re always looking for ways to connect with our community, donate and give back to those around us. 

This year, the team at Fox Pest Control’s Albany branch has made the decision to sponsor STRIDE Adaptive Sports, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides individuals with disabilities (primarily youth and Wounded Warriors) the opportunity to try, enjoy and compete in sports and recreational programs. 

The organization operates with the belief that sports and recreational programs not only provide healthy, active and fun lifestyles, but that their efforts help remove boundaries, fulfill dreams, enhance self-esteem and empower those with disabilities. 

Each year, STRIDE provides more than 11,000 adaptive sport and recreation lessons to individuals with disabilities. By leveraging specialized equipment and teaching aids, STRIDE helps “level the playing field” for all. In total, STRIDE provides access to programs in 19 different sports including golf, dance, skiing, snowboarding, tennis, yoga, swimming and whitewater rafting. STRIDE operates in 28 regional locations throughout the Northeast, and annually serves more than 2,200 families. 

Recognized as one of the leading adaptive sport programs in the Northeastern U.S., STRIDE is also a US Paralympic Sport Club and a training club for the New York Special Olympics!  

Volunteers are the backbone of STRIDE. More than 700 volunteers donate their time, talents and skills each year to help with sports, events, fundraisers and ongoing projects.
