Sketchin’ Tech is a fun, family-friendly drawing show on YouTube where you can draw all kinds of bugs. Some bugs are beneficial, some bugs are pests, but all are fascinating and fun to draw!
In this episode, we will learn how to draw a beautiful butterfly. Each butterfly is unique and special, just like every person.
So, get your art supplies ready, and watch this video to start drawing.
Parents, here are some fun facts about butterflies you can share with your kids:
Butterflies have compound eyes. This means that rather than just having one pair of eyes, like humans, they have up to 17,000 mini eyes. These help them see in all directions at the same time!
This tube-like tongue helps butterflies suck up flower nectar and tree sap.
Butterflies smell with their antennae and taste with their feet.
“We love the bright colors and fun designs that some butterflies have. However, that also makes them easy to spot by birds looking for a snack. Because of this, some butterflies have wings that help them hide, like this oakleaf butterfly from Peru whose wings look like a leaf.
The largest butterfly in the world is called the Queen Alexandra’s birdwing. Its wingspan has been measured as big as 11 inches. That’s as big as an adult’s foot! You can see what they look like below.
Butterflies are good because they help pollinate. At Fox Pest Control, we don’t target butterflies but try to leave them to do their important work. We know other bugs can cause your family problems, and we are really good at keeping them away from your home with our Home Protection Plan.
