Syracuse Team Helps Habitat for Humanity Clear the Way for a Fresh Start
The Syracuse team spent the day partnering with Habitat for Humanity on a project that was equal parts meaningful and hands-on.
This home was gifted to Habitat by a family who had deep roots there. They had lived in it for decades, basically since it was originally built. After the mother passed away, the father, who was close to 90 years old, just couldn’t manage everything on his own anymore. So the family made the generous decision to donate the house to Habitat so it could be rebuilt and given a second life with a new family in need.
The only challenge? The home came with 60 to 70 years’ worth of accumulated belongings that needed to be cleared out before any rehab work could even begin.
That’s where the Fox team jumped in.
In just a matter of hours, the team was able to remove everything from both the main living space and the basement, giving Habitat the clean slate they needed to properly assess the home, plan repairs, and begin the rehab process.
It was one of those projects that felt productive in the best way: fast-moving, team-driven, and genuinely rewarding. The result wasn’t just a cleared-out house. It was the start of a fresh chapter for a future family.
And honestly? It was also one of the most fun projects the team has been part of lately.
