What is a Board-Certified Entomologist, and why should it matter to you?

BCE stands for Board Certified Entomologist. According to the Entomological Society of America (ESA), the BCE program has become the benchmark for professionalism in the pest management industry. This certification is endorsed by the National Pest Management Association. To become a BCE is no small thing! The requirements include:

Must have a degree in entomology or a related field
Pass at least two rigorous exams
Be specialized in one or more areas of entomology
Sign the BCE Code of Ethics
Have a minimum of 1-3 years experience in the field, depending on the degree they hold
Present letters of recommendation from at least two professional colleagues, employers, or clients.

Hamilton Allen

Dr. Hamilton Allen is a Board-Certified Entomologist with more than a decade of experience in the pest management industry. He earned his Doctorate in Entomology from Clemson University, following a Master of Science in Entomology from Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Norfolk State University.

Since beginning his career in technical leadership in 2015, Hamilton has focused on applying entomological research and industry best practices to real-world pest management challenges. His work supports technical training, treatment strategies, and the continued development of pest management programs.

Hamilton also contributes to the industry beyond Fox Pest Control. He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Pest Management Professional magazine and is a member of the National Pest Management Association’s Public Policy Committee.

At Fox, Hamilton brings together scientific expertise, industry experience, and a practical approach to pest management, helping teams better understand pest behavior, treatment methods, and evolving industry standards.

Morgan Wilson

Dr. Morgan Wilson is one of Fox Pest Control’s Technical Services Managers, with a background in urban entomology, research, and pest management education. She earned her Doctorate in Entomology from Virginia Tech, where her research focused on bed bug biology and management. She also holds degrees in Plant Science and Wildlife Science.

Morgan began her pest management career in 2016 as a wildlife removal technician before moving into research, extension education, and technical training. She has provided pest management and prevention education for industry professionals, housing organizations, care facilities, and community service providers.

Morgan also serves on the Virginia Pest Management Association Board of Directors, chairs its Scholarship Committee, and is a lead instructor for the association’s Master Technician Workshops. At Fox, she uses her research and field experience to support technical training, pest management strategies, and continued education across the organization.

ACE stands for Associate Certified Entomologist. According to the Entomological Society of America (ESA), the ACE program has become the benchmark for professionalism in the pest management industry. This certification is endorsed by the National Pest Management Association. To become an ACE is no small thing! The requirements include

Passing a rigorous examination
Holding a current U.S. pesticide applicator’s license
Signing the ACE Code of Ethics
Having a minimum of 5 years of experience (only 3 required for those with an entomology degree)
Maintaining a minimum number of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) annually
Getting letters of recommendation from at least two professional colleagues, employers, or clients.

Anthony Mobley

Anthony Mobley serves as Fox Pest Control’s Senior Director of Field Sales and brings more than 26 years of experience in the pest management industry. Based in Biloxi, Mississippi, he has developed broad expertise across pest control, with a particular passion for termite and rodent management.

Anthony is an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) and a licensed Pest Control Operator in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Utah. Throughout his career, he has become a trusted resource for pest identification, locating entry points, troubleshooting equipment, selecting products, and developing effective treatment strategies for challenging pest problems.

He currently serves as President of the Louisiana Pest Management Association, contributing to industry education, leadership, and professional development.

At Fox, Anthony is especially passionate about mentoring technicians and developing field leaders. He draws on decades of hands-on experience to help teams understand pest behavior, troubleshoot difficult situations, and make informed treatment decisions that support knowledgeable, consistent service for customers.

Jim Buick

James “Jim” Buick is Fox Pest Control’s Quality Assurance & Field Compliance Manager and an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE) with more than 15 years of experience in the pest control industry.

Jim began his pest control career in 2010 with Orkin, serving as Branch Manager in both Rochester and Buffalo, New York. Motivated to expand his technical expertise, he pursued the Associate Certified Entomologist credential through extensive self-study and examination, earning his ACE certification in 2015.

He later joined Fox Pest Control, where he spent seven years managing the Hudson Valley branch before moving into his current quality assurance and field compliance role. Jim brings a combination of pest management knowledge, leadership experience, and a strong commitment to industry standards and continued learning.

He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics and has more than 30 years of management experience. Throughout his career, Jim has remained focused on helping people, supporting technicians, and delivering knowledgeable, dependable service.
