Fox Pest Control Sponsors Hudson Valley Horrors Roller Derby Team

We love hearing about individuals and groups in our community that are not only doing what they love, but doing good by giving back to those around them. And, when we learn about these folks, we look for ways in which we can help them continue their good work. 

One local organization that Fox Pest Control in Hudson Valley will be helping out this year is the Hudson Valley Horrors!  

If you’re not familiar with the Hudson Valley Horrors, they are the only first non-urban flat-track derby league in the world. Formed in 2006, the team’s home rink is Roller Magic rink in Hyde Park. Recently, The Horrors were accepted into The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s (WFTDA) apprentice program, allowing them to begin to apply for full membership, which provides more opportunities to compete and grow as a professional group of skaters. For those who aren’t old enough to be a Horrors (18+), the team has a co-ed junior league named the Frightmares which is open to kids ages 9-17. 

Not only are The Horrors icons for strong women, but they are amazing community members that believe giving back to the community is a top priority. In fact, you may have seen some Horrors participating at local philanthropy events like Toys for Tots, Adopt-A-Highway, Relay for Life, Hudson Valley SPCA, The Grace House and many more.
