Fox Pest Control Scholarship Recipient

Last year, Fox Pest Control offered a $2,000 scholarship to a student who exemplifies our core values of building relationships and helping those in need. After reviewing hundreds of applications showcasing amazing philanthropic acts, we decided to award our first scholarship to Delia Cote, a New Hampshire student who created what she called “The Post-It Project”. 

Delia’s service project focused on creating a positive impact at Hope for Recovery New Hampshire, a nonprofit that helps people find, maintain, and strengthen their recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. Delia started the project by leaving 600 sticky notes with encouraging messages on the walls of the facility and a simple sign reading “Take What You Need or Leave One Behind”. The Hope members loved the idea, and within a few days they had already replaced a quarter of the notes with new ones. Over 2 years later, the message exchange is still running strong.

Despite being less than three miles away and just on the other side of I-93 from the Fox’s Manchester office, without Delia’s scholarship application, we may never have known about all the wonderful work that the Hope for New Hampshire Recovery is doing. Since learning about the organization, Fox has become a sponsor, donating money to help the group continue to provide help to those with drug or alcohol issues through various programs and classes like music, painting and writing. At Hope for New Hampshire Recovery they offer chances to learn to play instruments, write, and workshop with staff members and other individuals. The idea behind these programs is to rekindle interests that were shed in pursuing substances, and the walls of the building are filled with paintings created by past and present Hope members. 

We’re grateful to Delia for bringing the great work of Hope for Recovery New Hampshire to our attention. At Fox we believe that everyone can make a difference, and we’re immensely grateful for Delia and how she’s given back to our community.
