Fox Pest Control Sponsors 12th Annual Fairfax Run for the Children

At Fox Pest Control, donating our time and talents, as well as giving back to the community through monetary support, is a cornerstone of our business. When we learn of organizations that are as committed as we are to solving a problem, making a change or giving back, we try to figure out a way in which we can help them in helping others. Recently, we found another amazing organization in Northern Virginia and we’re proud to share that we’re joining them in their crusade. 

Fox Pest Control Northern Virginia branch is now sponsoring the 12th annual Fairfax CASA Run for the Children 8K Race and 3K Run/Walk! 

Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a nonprofit organization committed to advocating for the best interests of children with open abuse and neglect cases before the Fairfax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Fairfax CASA is the only court advocacy program for abused and neglected children in Fairfax County. The goal of the organization is to ensure that children in these situations can have the opportunity to heal and grow up in safe and nurturing homes, allowing them to reach their full potential. 

In addition to Fairfax CASA’s court advocacy program, the organization works to promote and participate in collaborative efforts with other child-serving agencies on behalf of abused and at-risk children and to raise community awareness about the long-term impact of child abuse and childhood trauma.

The 2022 Fairfax Run for the Children event seeks to raise money for Fairfax CASA as well as recognize and honor the heroic dedication of CASA volunteers and the resilience of the children that are served through the program. By participating in this event, runners and walkers also become superheroes, helping bring awareness to and support the mission of Fairfax CASA. To showcase their superhero status, participants are invited to wear superhero costumes and gear! 

While the event features two different participation options, both will begin promptly at 8:00am on Saturday, April 30, 2022.. For the competitive 8K Race, runners begin at the Fairfax County Courthouse Complex and travel through historic Fairfax City and surrounding neighborhoods. The route for the 3K Run/Walk, which is recommended for families and children, takes participants around the current and historic courthouse complex. 

Those who are interested in participating  in the runs or walks virtually, can complete the events at their own pace any day throughout the month of April. Interested parties can learn more about in-person and virtual participation and registration here. 

Following the race, a post-celebration featuring free food from local businesses, family-friendly music, children’s activities, a photo booth and more transform the event into a “Superhero Party”. At the celebration, runner awards will be handed out and guests can try their luck at raffled items. As part of Fox Pest Control’s sponsorship of the event, two tickets to a Washington Nationals’ home game have been provided for the raffle.
