Spiders are an essential part of our ecosystem, playing a major role in keeping insect populations in check and preventing them from destroying crops. As wonderful as that is, they belong outside, not in our homes.
At Fox Pest Control, we strive to keep your home bug free. Here are a few ideas to keep spiders outside where they belong.
Without bugs, spiders will have no food supply. This forces them to go search for nutrients elsewhere, outside your home.
A clean home makes it difficult for spiders to move in, and will prevent them from building a web. Cleaning is also a great way to get rid of any existing webs, just use a vacuum or a broom and clear out these eyesores.
This simple trick helps discourage spiders before they even enter your home. Use about 5 drops of an essential oil or vinegar per 16 ounces. The best scents to use are eucalyptus, tea tree, or peppermint. Although humans love these smells, spiders do not. Put your drops in a spray bottle, add a dash of dish soap and fill the bottle with water. Shake well and apply near doors and windows, the perimeter of your home and any dark corners that spiders could use to infiltrate your space.
If you find there are too many spiders around for you to deal with on your own, we can help! Give us a call at (855) 953-2002!
